1.      Observe some online shops on the internet. Based on your observation, list some features that those online shops must display. Plan to create your own online shop.

I have observed some bag online shops on the internet, those are Grosir Tas Wanita Online (http://www.tokogrosirtasmurah.com/), Branded Lovers (http://brandedlovers.indonetwork.co.id/1534713) and Dunia Desi Ratna:Bisnis Online Tas (http://duniadesiratna.blogspot.com/2011/11/bisnis-online-tas.html). I conclude that there are some features that online shop must display:
·         Sample of complete product list that include of the product prices and links to each product page.
·         Description (Details of the products) such as the information of what is the quality, and size, the available colors, etc.
·         Online Advertising
·         Search Engine, to help the customer gets the product in which he/she is interested
·         The rule how to order the product
·         Testimony from customer
·         Automatic calculation of shipping charges, here the customer can determine freight cost before commencing checkout process.
·         The company address.
·         Optional Payment Methods, here the online shops can accept credit cards and/or checks.
·         Minimum Order that allows the customer easily set a minimum order price.
·         It is about how to make a deal with the online shop and how to order (via sms or BBM, FB, Twitter and many other social media).

From those online shops, I was interested to make plan for my own online Shop that concern in selling bag. I am going to sell the women’s product only for all ages exactly.  Here, some descriptions of my Online Shop, which is named “Geisha Handmade Bag”
·         The identity of my product, I will put “Geisha Handmade Bag” as the title on my page.  Then, I expect that the visitors will interested with the product that I offer and feel beautiful when they use my product.
·         I will make a list of the type of my bags, those are backpack, evening bags, everyday bags, messenger bags, and totes.
·         I will also make the specification of my product that includes the cost, link, the color available etc.
·         I will display the product based on its cost and the material is used.
·         It is because handmade product, I will post the imitated product which actually has many kinds of design.
·         I will try to serve the easiest payment and the best service for the customers. Then, I will display and give the order guidance to prevent the confusion. There, I will give the draft that has to be filled to make an order.
·         Some banks and delivery services that are trustworthy will support it. For example, Mandiri, BCA,BRI and others
·         My product will be promoted in all kind of social network, such as Facebook, Twitter, and others.

2.      Check Fiona Talbot’s Executive Writing Skills for Managers page 53. Read the case study and its details. Answer the questions on page 55.
§  What are your thoughts on the e-mail communications in the box?
         In my opinion, I think there is something wrong with Speedi Freight Solutions. The problem is in catching the meaning that could make misunderstanding. The China Xpress delayed to reply e-mail for about 7 days, it was because they did not understand what the Speedi Freight Solution was saying at that time. This misunderstanding is commonly happened, especially among the doers of business have different background. For example in this case, between The China Xpress and Speedi Freight, we know that Speedi and ABC inc is from NE Speaking country, so maybe they could not catch what The China Xpress is trying to say. It could be their English styles are different, so this problem happened. On the other hand, the problem in communication, there is also a problem in above case that is public holiday that disturb the shipping. Therefore, China Xpress Shipping could not send the product as soon as possible even the product was on the priority.
§  Think about what ABC Inc were looking for in their original e-mail.
         In their original e-mail, ABC Inc is looking for the assurance. They wanted to make sure, if the shipment will be there (in ABC Inc) or they will accept the shipment near the date. It means closer to the deadline as they already make a deal about it.
§  Did Speedi Freight Solutions deal with this in the best way? Or did they get distracted along the way? If so, why?
          Yes I think. Speedi deals with it, but there are some problems in communication between the Speedi and The China Xpress and also the delay because of the public holiday in China.

3.      Check Michael Benni’s Guide to Good Business Communication page 7. Complete exercise 2.
a.       “I had a fantastic trip to Berlin last week. Horst Khun, the guy I was doing business with, was great, some of his friends.” I think this sentence is subjective. One that you should have to mention in business report is the things that directly related or about the business, not the feelings of another thing out of business case.
b.      “The terms he suggested were a bit tricky (he’s a persuasive guy, and
was trying to get me to agree to them having a 60 per cent share”) that sentence just reflects subjective feeling too.
c.       “I stuck to my guns”, that sentence actually should not use. Seems is impolite, because it is like a slang word and informal language that should avoid in business communication.
d.      I had a fantastic trip to Berlin last week. Horst Kuhn, the guy I was doing business with, was great, and we got on really well. He took me to this amazing restaurant one evening for dinner, and then on to a club, where we met up with some of his friends”. I think the paragraph is not necessary to be included in the business letter. In my opinion, when we write a business letter, we should straight forward to the main topic that are talking. In addition, it is not necessary to tell about personal pleasure experience.

4.      Check Michael Benni’s Guide to Good Business Communication page 75. Complete exercise 14. To complete this exercise, you need to review some important points of using the right tone
