Transportation is one of the important things in our life. Transportation helps us to move from one place to another place. Transportation can be classified into three types, there are land, water, and air transportation.
The first type of transportation is land transportation. Land transportation is divided in two, which includes rail and road transportation. Rail transportation means conveyance of passengers and goods by way of wheel vehicles. The example of rail transportation is a train. A train can be powered by cables, gravity, pneumatics, and gas turbines. Moreover, rail vehicles move with much less fiction than rubber tires on paved road and make trains more energy efficient. Then the most common road transportation is the automobile, a wheel passenger vehicle that carries it own motor. Automobiles offer high flexibility and with low capacity, but are deemed with high energy. Other users of roads include buses, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
The second type of transportation is water transportation. Water transportation is the process of transport a watercraft, such as a large boat, ship or sailboat, which makes over a body of water, like a sea, ocean, lake, canal or river. The transportation of water is very energy intensive. Unless it has the assistance of gravity, a canal or long distance pipeline will need pumping stations at regular intervals. In this regard, the lower friction levels of the canal make it a more economical solution than the pipeline. Water transportation is also very common along rivers and oceans. In modern, sea transportation is a highly effective method of transporting large quantities of non-perishable goods. In the other hand, transport by water is significant less than air transportation for transcontinental shipping.
The third type of transportation is air transportation. Air transportation represents the fastest way to ship most types of goods over long distances. Passengers and goods can be transported by air either over regularly schedule routes, which routes specially are designed for a group of travelers or a particular good. In the other hand, air transportation is divided into two, which includes general aviation and military aviation. General aviation includes all non-scheduled civil flying, both private and commercial. General aviation may include business flights, air charter, private aviation, flight training, air ambulance, cop dusting, and forest fighting. In addition, military aircraft have been built to meet ever-increasing capability requirements. Aircraft are selected based on factors like cost, performance, and the speed of production.

In conclusion, transportation has been classified into three types, there are land, water, and air transportation. Every types of   transportation has their own way for helping us to go some place. In my opinion, whenever we want to go, we can choose those transportation depend on our need.
